I was pissed when I thought he’d spent $118mil on the election. I just noticed the contributions list had been updated with a new amount from Musk in this last election. Musk is one of the reasons we need a large, strong federal government in this probably soon dramatically changing world. We need to get him out of our current government and prevent him from taking over in some other way with his money. I believe that every MAGA supporter out there thinks the United States of America should be a dominant power in the world to combat the interests of Putin and the CCP.
In order to do that we must have a strong-functioning federal government where the people making up the bureaucracy can live their lives comfortably for their work performance. That would require the internal operation of the country to be one where there isn’t widespread strife. There are many functions needing government to require minimum standards be met to help mitigate current or future circumstances. I think to worker compensation law, landalord-tenant law, and building code. There are many more, but I think these three adequately justify the necessity of government. What we have been witnessing is the dismantling of those protections for all of us starting at the federal government. You may not have felt it yet, but I assure you it will have the famed trickle-down effect we’ve heard so much about.
The federal government requires certain standards be met by the states, the states mandate the requirements for local governments. With these requirements also comes the funding to make it so. All so our federal workers can adequately provide for the people, and make this country into what we want it to be. Applying that philosophy on a global scale requires partnerships, agreements, or dominant military power. I would include biological and psychological operations into that ‘military power’ category. These things require study within the country, which requires a somewhat comfortable life.
I guess the labor for these jobs I’ve alluded to throughout could be exerted through some physical threat, but I don’t believe that is a characteristic of a free society. I’m just saying that our government is required in this world to prevent tyrannical control by an enormously wealthy individual or adversarial world government. If it isn’t large and strong to prevent its overthrow by those nefarious interests. Is your life comfortable? I’m sure that we all agree our lives could be better in some aspect, and sometimes those concerns can be resolved through governmental intervention. That governmental action can also be obtained in most cases, dependent on the level of effort.
We risk losing our control of our governments, at all levels, by not having a large, strong federal government. The consequences of not taking steps to prevent this could be as much as speaking Chinese by law, we could legally be required to speak and operate in Russian (it’s a completely different alphabet), or we could all live in X. Think I’m joking. He named one of his kids that, right? What is the trash website that used to be Twitter? We will all live there and it will be horrible. Hard pass.
